Music detached from temporal constraints—often pure abstraction—found its chief prophet in Johann Sebastian Bach. Its structural balance, formal architecture, contrapuntal complexity, and harmonic support seem to elevate it above the human realm. And it is precisely its timelessness that has allowed it to be embraced by any instrument and musical style. This concert invites us to revisit Bach's greatness with the smallest and most humble of instruments, the harmonica, accompanied by a keyboard instrument and a double bass.
