The first few things I want to make clear are: 1. I’m not selling out and giving up on the long haired dream. So if you thought this was a free ticket for you to cut your hair off, think again pal. I am going to be growing it straight back. 2. The Man Buns & Manes hair growth community isn’t going anywhere, The group was designed to be a positive place to keep you guys feeling uplifted and inspired along your hair growth journeys. and after today’s video, I’m probably going to need the f^cking group more than ever so don’t you dare go any where! 3. I’m not leaving the hair community, I’m still in love with this part of the internet and will be continuing to make awesome hair content. Period. Now, that’s cleared up, let’s talk turkey about why this is happening. From a high level there’s 2 things that have really driven this decision for me: 1: The desire to make really cool content that I know you guys are going to LOVE. 2: I personally need a little bit more space & time in my life right now after the craziness of this year. So let’s go back to point 1. The desire to make really cool content that I know you guys will love. Most of you will have found me through my first hair growth journey where I went from a disconnected undercut man bun to a full man bun and from there a lot of you have transferred into the Man Buns & Maes facebook community And upon reflection, seeing the impact that first hair growth journey has made on so many of you and how uplifting everything that has come from it has been, I thought f#ck it. I’m gonna do it all again. The second time can only be better right? I know it sounds crazy that after all this time I’m actually going to put myself back to the very beginning or if not even worse because this time around there’s not going to be any undercut. Trust me, I’ve thought about this long and hard & I’ve decided… I want to do it. So look forward to my monthly check ins because I just know this is going to be a challenge haha. Going back to my second point of needing to slow down. Because all the work I do is online, the whole online environment since the pandemic has become more fast paced, there’s more pressure to perform, there’s more competition and there’s also more market demand not only for what I do on social media but also in my full time job that I have parallel to this. & while having more opportunities is awesome, if you’re going to take new opportunities on you also need the capacity to fulfil them and if you don’t, you find yourself with a ton of extra responsibilities and no time for yourself which is not healthy for anybody emotionally, physically and mentally. & I have well and truly overstepped my own personal boundaries this year of what I can handle in terms of work and output. And at the end of the day, I need to review that and acknowledge that me being overworked is my own fault and now I’m responsible for making a change. SO with that, I’ve looked at all my options, my full time job is f#cking hectic right now, I can’t really slow down there as it’s my main form of income but I also can’t keep doing that job and producing as much content as I have been over the last 5 years, Right now, it’s just not doable, but also by the same token I don’t want to stop making content all together because it’s actually something I get a lot of joy & fulfilment from. What you can expect from me from here on is 1 video per month documenting my entire hair growth journey from 0 to a full man bun and if along the way I have any spontaneous ideas or hair tips I want to share with you on the fly then that’s a bonus. I know it’s a massive change but I wouldn’t be doing this is I didn’t think it was the best thing to do at this time.
