The definition of terms is often called the operational definition of variables. A term or concept may be defined in two ways. Conceptual Definition: This refers to the basic or common or universal definition of a particular word or phrase. It is the definition found in dictionaries. Operational Definition: This refers to the meaning of the word based on how it is used in the research. This meaning may be different from the usual definition. This meaning describes how the variables are measured.
