JOHN G. LAKE ON DOMINION #johnglake #consecration #audiosermon John G. Lake was a renowned American preacher, missionary, and healer born on March 18, 1870, in Ontario, Canada. He was the seventh son of a family of sixteen children and grew up in poverty. Despite the difficult circumstances, Lake was a gifted student and completed his formal education at age sixteen. He moved to the United States and started working as a construction worker, where he honed his physical strength and stamina. In 1893, Lake had a profound religious experience and converted to Christianity. He became a member of the Salvation Army and started preaching on street corners. Later, he joined the Free Methodist Church, where he was ordained as a minister. Lake was a passionate preacher, and his sermons attracted large crowds. In 1901, John G. Lake was introduced to the baptism of the Holy Spirit, a doctrine that emphasized the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit, including healing, prophecy, and speaking in tongues. This experience transformed Lake's ministry, and he started to emphasize healing and deliverance in his preaching. In 1908, Lake moved to South Africa as a missionary, where he established a thriving ministry that included healing services, evangelism, and training programs for pastors and evangelists. Lake's healing ministry was renowned, and many people claimed to have been healed through his prayers and touch. Lake returned to the United States in 1913 and established a healing ministry in Spokane, Washington. He founded the Apostolic Faith Mission, a church that emphasized the baptism of the Holy Spirit and healing. The church grew rapidly, and Lake's healing ministry became well known throughout the country. He also established the Divine Healing Institute, a school that trained people in the principles of divine healing. Lake's ministry was characterized by his emphasis on the power of the Holy Spirit to heal and deliver people from sickness and oppression. He believed that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead was available to believers and that the Holy Spirit could work through them to perform miracles. John G. Lake died on September 16, 1935, in Spokane, Washington. His legacy lives on through his writings, which include "Adventures in God," "The Collected Works of John G. Lake," and "The Diary of John G. Lake." Lake's ministry had a significant impact on the Pentecostal movement and the healing revival of the 1940s and 1950s. Today, his teachings on the Holy Spirit, healing, and faith continue to inspire and challenge Christians around the world.
