Spring is the perfect time to reconnect with your roots—literally! Join us for an inspiring talk with Jessica Gale, a local farmer and Project Lead with Hamilton's Green Venture, who will share her passion for the joys and benefits of growing and sourcing local food. Dive into the "buy Canadian" food movement and discover why supporting locally grown food matters for your health, your community, and the environment. Jessica will discuss ways to source fresh, local produce and will teach us how to grow her top five foods at home, either in your own garden or in a community space. Whether or not you have a green thumb, don't miss this chance to learn how to grow local and eat local. About our speaker: Jessica Gale is the Project Lead at Green Venture, an environmental non-profit organization in Hamilton. Jessica has a Master of Landscape Architecture from SUNY ESF in Syracuse, NY and has worked as an organic farmer, ecological horticulturist and garden educator in Hamilton and Toronto since 2012. Her role at Green Venture is to help people get excited about land-based solutions to address climate change, stormwater, and biodiversity loss in their own backyards. When not at the farm or in her garden, you can find her cooking, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. The Rejuvenate Series is generously sponsored by our affinity partner, TD.
