Suffixes allow students to form new words from root words, thus helping them to understand and use a broader range of language. For example, adding the suffix -ment to the verb 'argue' creates the noun argument. Adding the suffix -ive to the verb 'create' forms the adjective 'creative'. ➡️The suffix TUDE simply means state of, condition of. Seven words that end with -tude are highlighted in the video. They are: APTITUDE, ATTITUDE, FORTITUDE, GRATITUDE, MULTITUDE, SOLITUDE, VICISSITUDE. Each word comes with a simple definition and then an image and sentence example.
