Gothic Remake - Gameplay Trailer Reactions and Analysis

My thoughts on the Gothic Remake Trailer from THQ Nordic's Digital Showcase 2024. The remake has been in production since late 2019 by Alkimia Interactive, formerly THQ Nordic Barcelona Studio, when they originally debuted a surprise "Playable Teaser," which was met with harsh criticism from longtime Gothic fans. The original developer, Piranha Bytes, has had zero involvement with the remake. It would seem that Alkimia took the feedback to heart and have changed course for the remake, apparently focusing their efforts on trying to remain as faithful to the original as possible but while adding new content and extra depth on top of all the things that made the original game so beloved back in 2001. This recent trailer shows a few brief glimpses into some of the locations and gameplay systems and talks about general plans they have for the remake.
