Hi Everyone and thank you for dropping in to my channel (Route 7 Railway). This video shows my ongoing efforts to upgrade my older locomotives and rolling stock, in order to make them more useable on the layout and give them a new lease on life. I hope that this video and other videos I have produced provide background entertainment while you are doing your own modelling or maybe provides a little inspiration to have a go yourself. If you enjoy or find this video interesting, please Like 👍 and Subscribe 🔔 (its free) and tell your friends If you are new to the hobby or maybe a bit worried about undertaking such modifications. My advice is to pick up some older kit from retailers or online and have a go. Call it practice if you will. That way if all goes pear shaped you won’t have spent too much money or ruined your best loco 😳😳😳 These modifications have a number of benefits :- More useable/fun on the layout. Provides satisfaction and fun actually doing the mods. Increases knowledge of the construction of various types of loco over the years. Can save you money by up cycling older kit, instead of feeling the need to buy ever more expensive models. Or it can enable you to direct your hard earned money towards fewer specific new models. In this video I remove the old ‘D’ shape tension lock couplings from two older basic models. A Lima Class 59 in Yeoman livery (circa 1997) and a Hornby Class 92 EWS livery (circa 1995). Both models are decent runners and in good overall condition, and have benefited from a good service and will be put to good use hauling rakes of Yeoman and Ews wagons on my layout. Enjoy and Regards…. Steve (R7R). 😊👍👍👍
