Hi everyone, Bruce here at etrailer. Today we're gonna take a look at and install the Firestone Ride-Rite Helper Springs on our 2022 Ford F350 Super Duty. You may be wondering why you would need air helper springs on your truck. Well, if you've ever loaded up your truck with a salt spreader, or even just put a heavy load back there and you notice your truck squatting, well, this can help you out because you can actually air up the air springs, and it will take the back end of the truck and level it out for you. These helper springs do have a load carrying capacity of 5,000 pounds. Now, when you are using these, I really recommend getting an air compressor because if you go to the hardware store or something and picking up a pallet of concrete or something like that and you don't really know where you need to air those up at, you have an onboard compressor, you can just hit a button and air it up right on site. When you are riding around just normally with no load in the bed of your truck, you do wanna run these at about five PSI, and you can go up to a maximum of a hundred PSI. With that being said, let's go ahead and talk about the installation. The installation isn't that hard, it's not too cumbersome. It's actually pretty easy, it's just a little bit time-consuming. Now, we did have to cut a bracket on this one. Normally I haven't had to run into that much except for on this particular vehicle. But if you don't wanna try it at home, check out our dealer locator on etrailer.com. But if you do wanna give it a try, stick around. I'll show you how. To begin our installation, we did drop the spare tire to give us more room. Once you do that, we do have to remove the factory jounce bumpers, and it's gonna be a 15 millimeter, and we're working on the driver's side and you're just gonna do the same thing on the passenger side as we do over here. (tool whirring) We gotta go ahead and get these clips and bolts out of here, and you might need to pry on it a little bit and get those out, and you can go ahead and keep those in case you ever wanna go back, but. Here's the bolt and clip that were inserted from the factory for the OEM jounce bumpers. We won't be reusing this hardware or anything so you can just set all of that aside and store it away. Now we need to go ahead and grab our nut plate and we put zip ties in it here. If you can see that, the zip ties are gonna help us line it up when we get it up inside the frame. That's where this is gonna be going. So you need to grab that, and then you need to go ahead and grab the 587202 with the L on it 'cause we are working on the left side. These are side specific so pay attention to that. Now what I like to do is just go ahead and run the screws in there just to clean up the threads so it doesn't make it if there's a tight spot going in. And you're gonna wanna do that with the other one as well before we actually put this in. (tool whirring) Taking our nut plate, we're gonna send it up through this hole here and make sure the nuts are facing up, and put that in, and that zip tie we can grab a hold of on the other hole here. You'll have to work it in there a little bit. Like that. And what these zip ties are gonna do for us is it's gonna line up our holes. We will be cutting those off here in a bit once we get the upper plate mounted. Grabbing our upper plate in this hole right here, our zip tie's gonna go right through there. That'll help us line up our threads, and then we can grab the two and a half inch bolt and get it started. Once you get the first one lined up, the second one's a little easier. Now, before we tighten these down, we are gonna cut those zip ties off. Let that hang there. You get a razor knife or pair of cutters and go ahead and cut those zip ties. And we're gonna take 7/30ths and we're gonna go ahead and tighten these bolts up. (tool whirring) We'll come back by with a torque wrench and torque 'em down. (tool whirring) I'm grabbing our torque wrench, and we're gonna torque these down to the manufacturer specifications. If you don't have a torque wrench, we carry them here at etrailer, or you can rent one from your local auto parts store. Now we need to take our lower spring bracket and our lower frame bracket, and we need to go ahead and put those two togethe
