Blues for Alice is one of the first jazz blues song I "learned" when I get started playing jazz. Yet I always had a problem playing the melody so I learned it again this past week. Few interesting notes Intro was Fmaj7 Ab7 Dbmaj7 C7 like Coltrane changes The tuning on this recording was close to A=442, this can be a various reasons. It might be tuned in A=442 when it's recorded, or it could be slightly pitch shifted during the production/remastering etc. It felt much better and easier to play this transcription when I tuned it in 442. Second chord is more like Em7 rather than Em7b5 diatonic VIIm7b5 but we can play Em7b5 scales like he actually did occasionally. There's a really cool half step resolution for C7 that's also half whole diminished scale.
