Byanyimas remarks follow a viral video circulating on social media, in which concerns are raised about the medical care received by the late Kakooza John Baptist, husband to Justice Irene Mulyagonja, during his time at the facility. Dr. Byanyima clarified that Mr. Kakooza was admitted to Mulago Hospital from April 9th to May 6th, 2025, having been referred from Nsambya Hospital. During his stay, he was treated for multiple conditions, and a series of clinical laboratory tests were conducted. A final diagnosis was made by a multidisciplinary team, which then established a treatment plan based on national medical guidelines.
