Noam Hameiri - Over and Over and Over Again! (2024) for snare & electronics

The course was about composing with the use of Electronics. In this case, this means a program called Max 8 cycling. I had never known of this program up until then. My teacher helped me learn it step by step over the course of two semesters. The final assignment for us students was to compose a piece for a solo instrument and electronics and have it performed in concert. The electronic component of this piece is pretty simple (Only using delays and filters on the snare). The thing that really helps this piece come alive is the placement of the 4 speakers in the room and this piece utilizes all of them. This composition was Totally out of my comfort zone, and while I don't really like it (and I don't think that I'll compose something using max 8 anytime soon) I can still appreciate the work that was put in (especially by the musician).
