Fisherman’s Trail - Portugal

The Fisherman’s Trail is described as a stunning coastal route that winds its way along rugged cliffs, golden beaches, and whitewashed seaside villages. It stretches a little over 200 kilometres, and for us, it took ten days — ten days of soft sand, strong winds, and the occasional downpour. From our perspective this walk didn’t quite live up to our expectations - a little too much road walking and some long stretches of baron farmland that didn’t have us continually diving for our camera. On the positive side, it did have many sections that privileged us to epic ocean views, dramatic cliffs, and some quaint towns. We were also blessed to meet a number of other friendly fellow traveler’s who we loved getting to know as we passed the hours slowly along the trail. Interestingly, although we didn’t love this hike most of our fellow walkers did (mainly German), describing it as spectacular - so we think we’re either spoilt or fussy (probably both…) This… is the Fisherman’s Trail.
