NOTE: Apologies for quite a long video. i originally intended for a quick run through and just describe PrimoCache installation. But there's already quite a bunch in YouTube. So if you're only interested in the installation part, simply click on the time stamp for that particular chapter. another reason for the video being too long is back in the day when i was deciding if it’s a good idea to buy a 5400rpm HDD, I’m unable to get a good reference video for it. All there were was the 7200RPM hdd. So i feel obliged 😂 to describe whats to be expected when using a 5400rpm hard drive. 90GB for SSD caching is actually alot. 20-60GB is more than enough actually (depending on your usage). For an average user though, 20gb SSD 1gb RAM is enough for each partition (though it would be recommendable if it’s 2gb of RAM at least. But for the sake of simplicity in regards to file management, i used the lot of it. If you have say 500GB capacity, it would be a better option to utilize the 500SSD as you boot drive, and make a partition to a lot a part of it for caching for your HDD. I just noticed that by the end of the video, when i launched a bunch of applications, the system had a bit of a struggle. VERY NORMAL, i'm running a dual core system only SO, quite understandable. And that my phone is connect wirelessly so a bit of latency was observed. #Primocache #5400RPM #increaseHDDperformance #storemi #intelrst #optane #ssdcache #cache #optane5400rpm #ssdhdd #hddssd #hdd #ssd #windowshdd #hddforgaming #5400gaming
