The roadshow visits the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea, where highlights include a rare 19th-century photograph album capturing landmarks of ancient Egypt, such as the Sphinx and the pyramids. Chris Yeo appraises an Elton John signature brought along by child star and one of Elton John’s proteges, Mal Pope, who was signed to Elton John’s record label. Raj Bisram is thrilled to see a valuable collection of diving memorabilia with a poignant story, brought in by two proud daughters, while Welsh expert Lisa Lloyd ponders the story of a shilling recovered from the Titanic and sent home when its owner was buried at sea. Jewellery specialist Susan Rumfitt knows the true value of a pair of golden nose rings from the Indian subcontinent, while Raj Bisram recognises a Muhammed Ali signature, sent as part of a motivational letter to the owner and her siblings. Miscellaneous expert Chris Yeo laughs along with a ventriloquist's doll, and local Welsh expert Ben Rogers Jones is surprised to find that a beautifully handmade early 20th-century violin was created by a Welsh craftsman. Fiona Bruce heads inside the nearby National Waterfront Museum to explore Swansea and Wales’s industrial and maritime heritage. She marvels at its incredible collection, charting Swansea’s evolution from copper production through local coal mining to the early days of steam trains – one of the first steam locomotives was invented in nearby Pontypridd, and it now takes pride of place in the museum. ● Watch more Antiques Roadshow UK videos: https://uktvshows.com/ ● If you feel the video is useful to you, you can buy me a coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/uktvshows
