Jimmy Doherty, Kate Quilton and Matt Tebbutt are once again travelling the world to uncover the secrets behind the food we eat. Tonight Kate is in sunny California to ask why there are so many closed pistachios in the packs we buy. She's astonished to learn it's down to the race against time to harvest the nuts before the crop succumbs to the dreaded navel orangeworm. And despite some rigorous quality control, some of the worms can still end up in our packs. Matt heads to Italy to enjoy a glass of prosecco, the bubbly fizz which has now overtaken champagne sales for the first time. On route, Matt samples prosecco served on tap – only to learn from the outraged Italians that UK bars or restaurants selling draught prosecco may be at risk of prosecution. Meanwhile Jimmy heads to Ireland to investigate whether traditional rolled oats are any better for us than quick-cook porridge.
