This video demonstrates my method for making Guardog TM blade guards work excellently for ice hockey skates. The method requires two packets of Guardog TM deluxe skate guards, plus putting the plastic guards in an oven at approximately 100 degrees Celsius. Recently, I gave my old pair of customised skate guards away to a skating buddy. My old set was 11+ years old. So now that I have new guardog skate guards arrive (which turns out to be an identical model as my old pair), I decided to take the opportunity to make a video to share my old method for making these spring-loaded guards work extremely well for ice hockey skates. This is my second YouTube video I ever made, so excuse any mistakes in terminology and repeating myself too much. I have no affiliation with Guardog TM as well. The video clip is to allow everybody to know how to best prepare a set of these kinds of guards for hockey skates. I used this heat forming method more than 12 years ago for preparing flexible skate guards. Anybody could have thought of it, since it's the same idea as heat fitting of ski boots and hockey boots. Additional note: If you haven't got an oven, then use a large pot of very hot water for warming up the blade guards. Do not put guards in the pot while heating the water, since a hot stove will damage the guards.
