Blue Archive the anime is finally here! After the first episode, I gotta say the opening was definitely the highlight I didn't expect at all. The quality was understandable once I heard people from the Chainsaw Man opening worked on this, and it's amazing what they've achieved. The song itself could be said to be one of those "typical" opening songs; the characters singing together with lyrics reflecting their personalities, the chord progression not so complex like many in-game soundtracks, but I'd argue it still has its own charm. To make the arrangement as engaging as possible, I put a lot of contrast between the choruses and verses, by using different registers on the piano and varying the dynamics. I especially paid attention to express the "flying" feeling of the chorus.
