It is a serious emergency and it can be due to any injury form the head to the toe. The most important things to be evaluated during the Polytrauma is if there is any injury to the brain, basically intracranial injuries or any bleeds, which is a serious life threatening injuries or injures to the spine which can cause paralysis of the limbs, there can be injures to the chest which can be serious life threatening like pneumothorax. We need to evaluate those things. There can be severe intra abdominal injuries, basically the solid organ injuries, basically injuries to the liver and the spleen. Basically the injuries can be a life threatening condition where the patient might die of hemorrhagic shock, the other serious injuries to evaluate is the pelvic injuries or the extremity injuries. So basically the initial evaluation should be able to identify life threatening and accordingly treatment should be devised.
