PAVAULT is a responsive pavilion design, lightweight, self-supported permanent public art structure in Alexandria, Egypt. Developed by custom computational protocols of structural form-finding and descriptive geometry and digitally fabricated. An infrastructural project designed and built to fit the scale of neighborhood play. Design by physics and solar radiation. Using a compression-only vault that the form-finding process is done using digital tools and programs. With the recent studies on the vaults and compressional structures and upon the help of computers and new programs, it is now possible to design and build stable vaults that are not symmetrical and are called free-form structures. forms that turn compression into strength and don't need complex steel substructures. Softwares used : Rhino, Grasshopper, rhino vault, ladybug, kangaroo, and flow design.
