Over the weekend of the 11th and 12th of January 2025 the Battlefield Railway, Shakerstone to Shenton (site of the battle of Bosworth field) via Market Bosworth, held their Winter Warmer Gala with four visiting steam locomotives. The visiting Locomotives were; GWR 1366 Class Pannier tank number 1369 visiting from the South Devon Railway, Robert Stephens and Hawthorn "Austerity" Tank works number 7289 "Fred" visiting from Tysley Locomotive Works, GWR 28xx class Number 2807 (the oldest operational GWR steam locomotive built in 1905) visiting from the Gloucester Warwickshire Steam Railway AND GWR Grange class number 6880 "Betton Grange" the newest Great Western Railway locomotive having only been completed in 2024 and visiting from Tysley Locomotive Works. The weather on Saturday (the day I visited) was not too great with freezing fog and sub zero temperatures but the volunteers managed to put on a great event despite the issues with frozen points, frozen water tanks/pipes and a few other minor issues. The volunteers were amazing. This video is the video footage I took followed by some of the photos I took at the same time using my DSLR camera, I hope that you enjoy the video and if you do, please click the like button and subscribe to the channel. Enjoy, Dale.
