Gelatin Zymography Tutorial 5: Quantifying MMP Activity with Image J and Normalizing Samples

Here we demonstrate how to quantify bands of MMP activity in a Gelatin Zymogram using Image J, and then normalize the MMP activity of samples to an MMP-2 standard in Excel. We also explain the rationale behind normalizing samples with an MMP standard, which is to account for the variations which normally occur from gel to gel.
