Needed to feed the algo, so grabbed the nearest thing on the shelf I didn't recognize. Turns out it was this 1989 Casio "BOSS" (Business Organizer Scheduler System) PDA thingy. Okay, I get why somebody might want this. If you traveled a lot, I could see how this would be useful versus trying to juggle a physical address book, business card folder, notebook, planner, etc. Just toss this in your briefcase and go. But OMG what an incredible pain to just do simple things. And this manual. What a nightmare. You'd think that "first steps" like resetting the data, changing the batteries, etc. would be up front and easy to find. No! Nothing about this is easy. It's interesting to compare this to the device we all carry around in our pockets today... like my iPhone. Just pull up an app and start typing. No cryptic key sequences and losing data... just i.e. Notes - type. Phone, contacts, all of it. So intuitive and just simple compared to this. Enjoy I guess. It's not much. I quickly discovered that I'd be spending most of my time searching this awful manual for how to do the most basic of operations. A limitation of the technology or just nerds throwing together some parts to come up with something to sell? Who knows.
