Welcome to our channel! 🤗 In our last video, we witnessed the outstanding performance of the Timken 1111, a fascinating product from Trainz Forge ( https://trainz-forge.com/ ). We really love this DLC! In Trainz Forge's Timken 1111 pack, three different Northern Pacific liveries are included; we found the Russia white coating version is very attractive, so we decided to create another video for this unique steam engine. This is a three-part video showing the Northern Pacific Class A-1 #2626 challenge NYC Niagara, Canadian National Railway's U3a, MILW's S-3, all of them are Northern type 4-8-4, renowned for their great performance. In real life, the Timken 1111 was an Alco built demonstration unit for new roller bearings produced by the Timken Roller Bearing Company. After being tested by 17 railroads in North America, the Timken 1111 settled in Northern Pacific after suffered a severe crown sheet damage. Northern Pacific purchased the locomotive and renumbered it to 2626, classifying it internally as locomotive class A-1. There are many things that Trainz can't simulate, including the friction between the component on running gear. So, we checked the Trainz e-spec of Timken 1111 to see how the author and creator presents a steam engine is benefited by the roller bearing. We found some interesting figures related to the boiler size in the e-spec, which might have been playing a crucial role in boosting the performance of the Timken 1111 in Trainz. I am no train simulator script guru, so we don't want to say the e-spec is accurate or not! However, with all due respect, we suspect that the engine is a little bit overpowered... When the NP 2626 is pulling 1000 tons of heavy train consist, I feel like operating a 6000hp steam engine like the Niagara instead of a 4300hp one!
