The 3W Cell is a roofed, 3-wheeled electric scooter, an 'all-in-one' scooter that could be very interesting for those who only have a car license and want an attractive mobility vehicle. Project Urban 23 is a company based in Fulda, Germany, which has been mentioned in many media with its proposals for 3 models of electric motorcycles. Of course, the most striking one is the model called 3W Cell, a model that is clearly inspired by the famous BMW C1, as it is a motorcycle with a roof. One of the features of the unfortunate BMW C1 was that the driver did not have to wear a helmet as long as he wore a seat belt. The same thing happens with the 3W Cell, where the structure that forms the roof and the belt similar to that of a car are enough to make the necessity of wearing a motorcycle helmet seem unnecessary. Another feature that makes this model quite strange is that it is a 3-wheeled scooter (hence 3W, '3 wheel' in English). It has a front axle with double-lean wheels. Its approval also allows the vehicle to be driven only with a vehicle license, regardless of its performance. As for the batteries, it has space to accommodate up to 3 removable units, each with a capacity of 2.3 kWh. This corresponds to a range of between 115 and 165 km (depending on the version), but can be extended to an incredible 400 km if we add additional batteries. Regarding the announced performance, they say that two versions are planned: one with a maximum speed of 45 km/h (certified as a moped) and the other capable of reaching a speed of 100 km/h. ABS and traction control are standard aids in addition to Bluetooth connectivity. for now it is just a project. They are preparing products that will be on the market in 2025, in particular a 3-wheel electric motorcycle with a roof for 2026. This model, which received the 2025 German Design Award in the category of Excellent Product Design in the motorcycle category, will be re-opened in 2025.
