Forest of grief, poetry to music.

At night, I hear pain-filled screams rising from the forest of grief. Longing and despair seep from the thick tree line, slipping through my bedroom window. Their inhuman wails send sudden shivers down the nape of my neck, rendering me unable to move. What horrible events occurred in this desolate place? No vegetation grows here. No life remains— only suffering left behind by a distant past. Time itself seems halted by the dense walls of forest that shelter its ghostly inhabitants. Do they know death? Do they remember the lives they once led? Do they hear their own horror-filled cries? I do. I feel every heartbreaking emotion as I lie awake, waiting alone for dawn to break. There is no rest for them, and no rest for me. I am the lonely woman who tends the forest of grief.
