We must relearn what it means to be a man!

We all have an idea of what a man is. Often that idea has been spoon fed to us since birth. When I asked myself the question what does it mean to be a man, disturbing images came to mind. The first thing I saw was an image of a man beating his wife. Then I saw rape, then came dominance. Isn't that super disturbing? A man being lazy sitting in the couch letting the woman do all the work, a man drinking beer until he falls on the ground, the man who is absent in the brining up of his children... All these images. Everything we've seen throughout our lives and see on a daily basis. Whether we're conscious of it or not, this image of what a man is influences are daily actions, our lives. When I was younger, I remember saying "Well if that is what a man is, I don't want to be one". Now, I refuse to run away from being a man, I refuse to ignore my purpose and my role in society. I am a man. And I am not running away from it anymore. But guys... we got some work to do. We must. For the sake of the safety of all. For the sake of the well being of all. It is our responsibility as men to hold other men responsible.
