The PCG Technical Diving Group (TDG), composed of four technical divers, recovered the cadaver at a depth of approximately 187 feet. According to PCG TDG Supervisor, Commander Cheska Jamorol PCG, the cadaver was found inside the accommodation area of the sunken vessel. The recovered body was immediately secured aboard BRP Melchora Aquino (MRRV-9702) and transferred to BRP Capones (MRRV-4404) for transport to Zamboanga City Port. The Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao is currently coordinating with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office for the body’s identification and proper disposition. As of 12NN today, the total number of fatalities stands at 46, while the survivor count remains at 316.
