Glen Everett - Poverty and Deprivation: Statistics in Action

Glen Everett, ONS, talked about the redevelopment of EU-SILC (EU statistics on Income and Living Standards), the new ONS small area income estimates & households in poverty statistics, a new ONS publication on variation in the inflation experience of UK households, and a recently published GSS guide to income and earnings statistics. He also talked about the UNECE taskforce work on poverty measurement, which is seeking to agree common guidelines on measurement of poverty and deprivation and the link to the new UN sustainable development goals, which include to 'end poverty in all its forms everywhere', and will also be looking at the development of internationally comparable data on poverty. The RSS hosted the Statistics User Forum Conference on 10 February 2015, sponsored by JRF and Resolution Foundation.
