In this Shakedown, we wonder if there is such a thing as 'too small' when it comes to Rallyman circuits, as we find out what different size courses can offer us. A lot of the courses I've made have skewed towards the larger side, with lots of tiles being used in an attempt to better portray the look and feel of a course, but is bigger better? Yokiboy might have the right idea by providing long and short versions of each of his circuits recreated from the RallyX Nordic championship, and we're checking out how the Rallyman versions of Höljes shape up. Hopefully we'll learn a thing or two about course size from them. Do shorter courses make for more interesting races, or do they prompt players into always taking the obvious path around the track? Is the very smallest course you can create a good idea, or a bad one? Ultimately, there's no right or wrong answer, so long as you're having fun. 0:00 Intro 1:20 Rules 2:30 Race 1 5:50 Race 2 19:14 Race 3 32:00 Thoughts SHAKEDOWN is a showcase of Rallyman and the community that makes it what it is. From variant rules to recreated race tracks, from serious strategy to silly situations to find yourself in, I want to highlight anything and everything that makes this game shine, much of it community created content. What would you like to see the most? What aspect of Rallyman hasn't been explored enough? Which circuits are hidden gems? What rules do you insist others try out for themselves? Let me know, and be sure to spread the word about whatever great Rallyman content you find on your travels. Yoki's RallyX 2023 Circuits can be found in the Rallyman: DIRT - RX files section on BoardGameGeek (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgameex..., and if they're not big enough - or small enough - for you, I'm sure he won't mind you tinkering away with them.
