Near the top of Grand Canyon's bucket list hikes is the iconic Rim-to-River (also known as Rim-to-River-to-Rim). Traditionally starting from the South Kaibab trailhead, the Rim-to-River route takes you seven miles down to the Colorado River, and more than nine back up Bright Angel Trail to the finish in Grand Canyon Village. The trip down South Kaibab provides a Grand Canyon experience like no other, with breathtaking views almost every step of the way along the 4780-foot descent. At the bottom, you can continue on to Phantom Ranch (about another half-mile) or put your head down and get to work on the long, difficult climb up Bright Angel, on which you'll gain more than 4400 feet of elevation. Before you take on this hike, follow along as we take you the entire length of the route, showing you what to expect on the hike of a lifetime deep inside one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. If you have ANY questions whatsoever, please drop them in the comments. We exist only to help you have the best possible experience in the place we love so much. Thanks for watching.
