ITA Airways has officially joined Star Alliance, and we were there to witness it! We begin at London Heathrow, boarding the inaugural relaunch of ITA’s Heathrow service flight AZ203 (after acquiring slots from the Lufthansa Group, of which is it now also a member after Lufthansa bought a 41% stake in the airline). From there, we experience ITA’s fresh new Airbus A321neo, including a look at their premium economy product and how you can get this seat for (relatively) cheap within Europe. Arriving in Rome, things go behind the scenes with ramp access for a photo shoot with ITA’s Star Alliance–liveried aircraft (EI-EIB), followed by a gala evening marking this major milestone for the airline.
