STAVE RIVER COHO — Casting Spoons and Spinners for Coho and Chum Salmon | Mission, BC

It was a foggy morning in October and I was headed out to the Stave River in Mission to target Coho salmon. I missed first light but got there early still. When I arrived at the spot there was one other angler there, and he was buzzing. He told me it was his first time fishing by himself and he'd never caught a salmon, although he'd already hooked a few that got off by the time I arrived. His positivity and energy got me fired up. We got started fishing and it didn't take long for the fish to start smashing lures. Spinners and spoons were both getting hit hard by Coho and Chum.
