Bengaluru moved into 2017 with horrific incidents of molestation marring its New Year’s eve celebrations. Goons had gathered on the bustling MG Road and Brigade road, they groped and molested women in full glare of policemen who were deployed in the area. The sad indecent has once again exposed the filthy mindset of these people who consider women as object of pleasure and feel they can take them for granted at any time. It has also exposed the lacuna on the part of Police who had earlier assured that all of their forces will be patrolling the city to ensure incident-free celebrations. The police which not only remained a spectator has refuted all the allegation and said there had been no official cases of molestation and harassment registered with them. However, the police has admitted helping out women in distress who reached out to them, but denied getting any calls complaining of molestation.
