He was truly a great musician/entertainer that was ahead of his time, and yet, is virtually unknown to today's generation. Louis Jordan (born:1908 - died: 1975) was one of the FIRST multi-media entertainers, using movie shorts (a precursor to modern day music videos) to expand his audience. He was also a great singer, multi-instrumental musician (step aside Prince!), a 'rapper' (he was one of the 1st to use rap/rhyming in his music....beginning in the 1940s!), and he was a great song writer, as well as a great entertainer overall. His style of music could easily be categorized as early Rock and Roll, but unfortunately, he is overlooked in the American music history books. This video is for educational purposes only.
