In this video, Dr. Brainerd Prince, Associate Professor, Director, CTLC, Plaksha University is in conversation with Pawan Kumar, Director, High School Programs, Plaksha University to discuss the Academic Research Writing Course (ARWC) designed for high school students (Grades 9–12). Together, they explore the vision behind the course, what students will experience during the program, and how early exposure to academic research and structured writing can help young learners develop strong analytical and communication skills. The conversation also highlights how this course introduces students to the process of inquiry, research design, and scholarly writing in a supportive university environment. About Dr. Brainerd Prince: Dr. Brainerd Prince is Associate Professor and Director of the Centre for Thinking, Language and Communication (CTLC) at Plaksha University. He is a scholar of philosophy, religion, and research methodology. He completed his PhD at the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies (OCMS), Middlesex University, London. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Prince is a writer, poet, and educator with a deep interest in interdisciplinary learning, communication, and social engagement, and is currently working on his forthcoming book, The Philosophy and Design of Research (Springer Nature). His published works include Mearcstapa (Rupa, 2025) and The Integral Philosophy of Aurobindo: Hermeneutics and the Study of Religion (Routledge, 2017). About the Academic Research Writing Course: The Academic Research Writing Course (ARWC) is a 9-day research-based learning program hosted at Plaksha University. This is the first in-campus edition of the course, designed specifically for high school students in Grades 9–12 who are curious about research and academic writing. The program guides students through the foundations of academic inquiry, encouraging them to move from an initial question or area of interest to a completed 2,000-word academic manuscript. Through a structured learning pathway, students will strengthen essential academic skills such as critical reading, research thinking, and analytical writing. Program Highlights: 1. 9-day immersive academic experience 2. Interactive workshops and personalized tutorials 3. Guidance on developing and structuring research ideas 4. Writing a 2,000-word academic research manuscript 5. Creating a research poster presentation 6. Presenting research findings at the Public Speaking Lab at the CTLC Studio and Labs. The course is led by Dr. Brainerd Prince, who brings extensive experience in teaching academic research and writing.
