BEML Drives Next-Gen Manufacturing at KGF | Feb 03 2026

BEML Limited takes a major step forward in advanced manufacturing with the commissioning of a state-of-the-art Robotic Welding Cell and HMV Axle Assembly Shop at its Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) complex. The new facilities were inaugurated by Shri Shantanu Roy, Chairman & Managing Director, BEML Limited, in the presence of senior leadership, marking another milestone in BEML’s manufacturing transformation journey. The robotic welding cell is designed to manufacture critical components for earthmoving dozers, using advanced technologies such as pulse welding and laser-based sensors—delivering higher productivity, superior weld quality and reduced rework. The newly commissioned HMV Axle Assembly Shop, with a capacity of nine axles per day, features advanced assembly, testing infrastructure and ergonomically designed workstations, aligned with green manufacturing principles. Further strengthening its lean manufacturing approach, BEML has also operationalised a GEMBA area at the KGF complex. The visual workplace enables real-time tracking of performance and challenges, supporting faster decisions, better collaboration and continuous improvement. Together, these initiatives reflect BEML’s commitment to future-ready manufacturing, operational excellence and global quality standards.
