Family Camping | Our BEST Tent Setup Yet! | New Camping Gear Reviewed

Join us as we spend a week family camping in North Wales, testing all our latest camping gear and show you our tent set up. From the Intex inflatable corner sofa to the Eurohike foldable BBQ, we let you know if they are actually any good…. For a rare change we were able to see the sun and make the most of North Wales. Giving us ample opportunity to enjoy our Vango Vantanas II Air 650XL. We often get asked where we buy or products, so this time we have detailed where you can find them. From GoOutdoors (Please note that due to the Clubcard promotions that GoOutdoors have, prices do fluctuate...massively!) 1) The High-Gear Elite 6 Wardrobe – Assembled in 2 minutes by Scott!! We found this camping wardrobe to be useful. With one side providing shelf space and the other side allowing you to hand clothing (hooks and rail provided). Whether people going for 2-3 night breaks would find this any use, we are unsure, but if you are campers who go for breaks of 5+ nights, then we would say this is a good buy. Costs between £80 - 100 2) The Campingaz Bistro Grill - Due to us losing items on our journey up to North Wales, a new camping grill was required. The plan was to get a Quest Griddle as that is what we had previously, but due to there being none available, we went for this Campingaz bit of kit. Powered by the small gas canisters, this great bit of kit. Easy to clean, comes in sturdy little case and amazingly we found that one gas cannister lasted us the entire week! So better than the electric griddle we had before and we would recommend to anyone looking for a great camping cooker. Costs between £85 - £115 3) The Hi-Gear Duo Bunk Bed - This camping bunk bed, is quite flexible and can be a bunk bed or two single beds - we went for bunk format to save space. It took Scott about 10 minutes to assemble, so will probably take a normal person 5 minutes! Beau and Amy, both found this bed to be comfortable... Now we do recommend this camping bed, but the price varies greatly depending where you look. We purchased from GoOutdoors for £89, but it has also been there for £170!! 4) The High-Gear folding Wash Drainer - Scott really knows how to treat Janice, new Cooker and now the perfect accompaniment to help her wash up afterwards! All joking aside, this was actually found to very useful and actually helped keep the normal clutter of plates remain quite tidy. Definitely easier than just a bucket. Price varies from £10 - £22, so again worth looking around before you buy. 5) The Quest 2 Slice Toaster - This toaster does come with one minor fault. The fact that a standard slice of bread only gets half toasted. So, you do end up waiting whilst you reload the half-toasted bread around to give it an even tan...The result, you have toast, extra crispy in the middle, but it is toasted. Cost varies between £15 and £30 (definitely not worth the £30...) 6) The Eurohike Foldable BBQ - Well, what can we say about this contraption. Like a glorified Mecanno set, it folds up easy enough, but nothing fitted well at all. The top grill piece just slid around making it impossible to really cook or flip any burgers on it. We bought it for £25 and then saw it for £15 the next week, and we are not really surprised. Our advice is give it a miss... From Ebay The Intex Inflatable Flocked Top Washable Corner Sofa - We have reviewed lots of inflatable camping sofas - The Vango inflatable sofa, the Outdoor Revolution Campese and other cheap bubble type chairs. Prices vary, and we have found that the more you spend the better the quality. But as great as we found the most expensive - The Outdoor Revolution it does only seat two. So, to seat a family of 4 in the tent, we would end up spending in excess of £200. Camping is meant to be a cheap holiday, so most may find this out of their budget. The Intex Corner sofa was found on Ebay for £85. So, when it comes to seating capacity this was probably the best you would get. Now it did take an age to inflate, with it having 5 parts. But this is easily as comfortable as any other inflatable sofa we have tested. Over the course of the 7 nights, we touched it up with air twice, and it even stood up to our dog Roxy jumping on it. Obviously, it is a large unit, so you need a decent family tent if you want to buy one, but this we found to be the highlight of our holiday and a definite winner that we would recommend. Prices online vary from £85 - £150, so again look around before you buy. In the video we also show you our Vango Sunbeam Flexi lights.
