This. Place. Is. PHENOMENAL. I've been meaning to get out to Girard, Ohio for a while now. Yes, it's a small Midwestern town, but it is home to one of the most astonishing retro arcades I've ever had the pleasure of setting foot inside. Past Times Arcade is the brainchild of entrepreneur and collector Rob Berk, who also founded the long-running Pinball Expo in Chicago. This absolutely massive space inside of a former grocery store opened to the public two years ago, and is home to over 200 different retro video games, as well as an astonishing 400+ pinball machines from Rob's personal Guinness World Record holding collection of over 1,041 pins. Thanks to the kind charity of Rob's wife Brigitt Berk and the manager Patrick Baldwin, we were invited in one hour early prior to opening on a Thursday afternoon so we could record this comprehensive tour of the facilities. To say I was overwhelmed is an understatement. I used almost 100% of that time to film the walkthrough, and my jaw frequently was hitting the floor when I saw some of the rare, unique titles that I've never seen before. Once I was done filming, I had five hours to play as many of these classic retro games and unique pinball machines. My only complaint? That I didn't book a whole weekend to stay and spend here! This is to me, no joke, heaven on earth. Almost every single machine was working and in beautiful condition, and the few that weren't, maintenance was right on top of taking care of them. By the end of the night, my feet were aching, but I was happy to have made the visit. My sincere heartfelt thanks and gratitude go out to Brigitt, Patrick, and Rob -- and the entirety of the Past Times crew -- for allowing us to film this incredible collection, taking wonderful care of these rare machines, and making it all available to the public.
