An experiment of mine on trying to Gasket mount mod any Top mounted keyboards, using only 3mm Adhesive Foam Tape. The mod was tested out on 4 different keyboards with different characteristics and problems to show its effectiveness. Disclaimer: 1. I have only tried the mod only on the 4 boards that I own. So despite each board being vastly different from one other in switch type, plate and case materials, internal designs as well as price point, in the end it is still just a sample of 4. Therefore, your mileage on the mod may vary. 2. As mentioned at the end of the video, the method shown is not the only way to do the mod. Depending on the internal designs, you can have a very different way to put the tape or even use other materials that will completely change its effectiveness. 3. There could be other things I may have missed. Just kindly let me and others know in the comments. _____Timestamps:_______ 0:00 Intro 0:43 Start the experiment 1:05 Typing Test before 2:13 Thoughts on the Freyr stock 2:35 Concept of Gasket system 3:28 Problems with putting Gasket system in a Top mount designed keyboard 3:50 1st Experiment: Burger Mount 4:41 Problems with Burger Mount 4:57 Alternative Options and Problems 6:18 2nd Experiment: Implementing Gasket Strip system into Top Mount 6:41 Concept 7:06 Scotch Adhesive Foam Tape 7:34 Steps on the how to do the mod 9:11 Comparison Sound Test before and after 10:33 Final Results 11:16 Sanity Check on 3 more keyboards and reason for those specific boards 12:10 KBD8x mk.
