Terminator 2: Judgment Day saw its Super 8 'Scope feature release in either late 1992 or early 1993. It was just one of many great titles that made it onto the home movie gauge around this time which was the golden age of Super 8 film. The image quality was quite sensational and although it was not offered with a stereo soundtrack, many of us quickly had our prints re-recorded from either the HiFi VHS tape release or, better still, the LaserDisc. This print has the sound from the LaserDisc and it sounds as good as anything ever heard on Super 8. Glimpses of the film on screen within this video are for illustrative purposes only. The projector being used to screen Terminator 2 is the unique Elmo GS1200 HTI which was a rare modification for any Super 8 projector to give the brightest possible projected image from the tiny gauge and this machine was modified by Bill Parsons, the highest regarded Super 8 projector man in the UK. The work was carried out for a special screening at the 50th British Film Collectors Convention in 2005 when the first film projected through it in the cavernous Victoria Hall at the Ealing Town Hall, was an extract from Terminator 2.
