This week we continue to explore Bastimentos and Red Frog, we make a spontaneous decision and follow our friends to a bar cave! Not really knowing what to expect we follow them, we take Ralph our dingy and drive a couple kilometers into the depth of the jungle. Realising there were carnivore bats, also called vampire bats put me on edge a little, but our guide was very good and more comfortingly he brought he’s dog! Walking in the beautiful jungle we saw sloths, cacao trees and a huge centipede we felt ready to take on the bat cave. It went completely dark! Traversing through the murky water, not knowing what was underneath our feet, we weren’t so cocky anymore. The water retched our chest and then he asked us to jump... a two meter high jump at the end of the cave. When we get back to the anchorage Kieran adds an extra halyard to Merewether and takes you along for the hole process. Join our crew! We are looking for new crew to join in the future journey.
