Fence Panels: https://wildhograiling.com I got these at Home Depot Design Plan: https://www.dropbox.com/s/g9kpx6m24kj... Stain: Penofin RED Ultimate https://www.penofin.com/wood-stains/u... Yep. I don't speak Spanish so I've been told I mispronounced "and more". If that irks you.....oh well. Drop me a comment if you need some design help. If I'm not busy with work, I will try to help you out. It starts out here • New Hogwire Fence Pt 1. First, I am not a professional fence builder. Second, I'm dictating this description using Dragon Dictate, so there might be some quirks....and I might not review thoroughly...............so just sound things out and you'll understand my intent. My expertise in construction is in framing, siding, cornice, decks, and remodel. I learned very early on that my new fence design was somewhat complicated and ended up taking quite a bit of time. And that's totally okay since it's my project and I'm not trying to make money selling it to someone as a contractor. The total materials cost for this project (during the increased lumber price craze) hovers around $8000 ± $200. I picked up a cordless sander, M18, and I'm still trying to convince my bookkeeper/wife that it was required for the project so there's that small discrepancy. ;) I've had quite a few people stop to take pictures and some asked questions. One of the first questions was why I didn't use 4 x 4 posts. My answer is that I wanted a flat surface for each panel to butt into (2x4 to 4x6) rather than trying to flush each side (2x4 to 4x4). Pressure-treated lumber and cedar often are not the same exact width and that would look less refined than having a smaller panel finished into a larger post. Also, I wanted the fence to look strong and grand if that makes sense. 4 x 6 just looked stronger and 6 x 6 at all the transitions from one direction to an angle allowed me to have a 5 1/2 inch surface for each connection of a panel. Originally, I was told that there were no 12 foot long gates available anywhere, so I modified the design to incorporate 14 foot long gates. Then my landscaper, who is amazing, was able to find 12 foot farm gates out in Eastern Washington. So after having all the holes dug with 14 foot gate considerations, there was a little bit of last-minute modifications that ended up working in my favor. One of the surprises was I had no plan to have a man gate until the posts were readjusted and worked out perfectly to include one. Take that MURPHY (Murphy and I have a thing) ;)
