With a few clients in our clinic, doing anti-rotation push and pulls in a side plank is an effective exercise to help then build lumbar spine strength on one side. It forces them to prevent the external load into rotation. This will target the obliques, QL and extensor chain one one side more than the other. Plus it helps them coordinated movement of the arm - Learning to stabilise the scapula and integrate this into the neuro-programming of spinal stability.
