Byadagi APMC, known for its chili trade, turned into a battleground following a sudden dip in chili prices. An agitated mob set three vehicles on fire, including one belonging to a senior police officer and firefighter vehicle. The protesters also threw stones at chili traders’ shops, prompting the implementation of Section 144 in the area. According to the latest report, the situation is now under control. Farmers initiated the agitation after chili prices experienced a sudden drop, reaching as low as Rs 10,000 per quintal.
