Motorcyclist Hits 146 MPH While Fleeing Arkansas State Trooper | Police Pursuit

Friday, March 06th, 2026, at approximately 10:25 am, I, Trooper Hunter Grubbs, badge number 233, was patrolling US Highway 70 and running radar. While I was traveling westbound on Highway 70, I observed a black motorcycle traveling eastbound in the inside lane of Highway 70. I observed the motorcycle was speeding and confirmed with my front radar antenna and in-car screen, which confirmed the motorcycle was traveling approximately 124 miles per hour (mph) in a posted 60 mph zone. I immediately turned my vehicle around and activated my emergency lights and siren in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop on the motorcycle. I caught up to the motorcycle and observed speeds ranging from approximately 60 mph to 100 mph. The operator failed to maintain his lane and refused to pull over. I then pulled alongside the motorcycle in an attempt to gain the operator’s attention. The operator acknowledged my presence and pulled over. As both vehicles slowed, I attempted to position my patrol vehicle in front of the motorcycle and gave the operator verbal commands to turn the motorcycle off. The operator refused to comply and fled from the traffic stop. Prior to the operator fleeing, I observed that he was a white male with a brown beard, wearing a black jacket with light green on it. The motorcycle was black with white lettering and did not display a license plate. I then advised dispatch that the motorcycle was actively fleeing and that I was in pursuit. The pursuit continued eastbound on Highway 70, with the motorcycle reaching speeds of approximately 146 mph. As we approached the intersection of Highway 70 and State Highway 128, the operator turned left onto Highway 128 and continued fleeing northbound at a high rate of speed. After I lost visual contact with the motorcycle, I advised dispatch that I was terminating the pursuit. The pursuit was terminated near the intersection of Bassett Trail and Highway 128.
