During its recent Innovations Days event at its North American paver plant and headquarters in Ridgeway, South Carolina, BOMAG showed customers and prospective dealers its full range of roadbuilding products. Watch BOMAG’s paving train demonstrations from the event – 11 products in action, including its new flagship, the BM 2200/65 half-lane cold planer – in the video above. The demonstrated BOMAG equipment is as follows: 0:00 – BM 1200/35 cold planer 0:44 – Maven 65 sweeper by Scarab (BOMAG sister company) 0:53 – BF 200 paver 3:31 – BW 120 SLC combination roller 3:48 – BW 11 RH pneumatic tire roller 4:01 – BW 138 combination roller 4:12 – BM 2200/65 cold planer 5:23 – CR 1030 T paver 6:44 – BW 174 AP-5 AM Hybrid pivot-steered-tandem roller, followed by BW 161 ADO tandem roller and BW 28 RH pneumatic tire roller Already well-known in the U.S. for its compactors, BOMAG, a 65-year-old company based in Germany, is placing greater emphasis on the North American market of its complete roadbuilding product line, which covers everything from milling to mats. The company already has been making deeper inroads into North America. Rolf Junker, president of BOMAG, reported that the combined U.S.-Canada market has grown from one-fourth of the company’s overall revenue to one-third, as of this year. “It is the by far fastest-growing market for us … and therefore very, very important,” he said.
