The 12News meteorologists have issued a Weather Impact Alert from Saturday night through Tuesday morning due to freezing rain and temps this weekend. MORE: https://www.12newsnow.com/article/wea... NOTE: This is an automated updating weather loop for Southeast Texas. An Ice Storm Warning is now in effect for Hardin, Tyler, Jasper and Newton counties, while a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for northern Jefferson and Orange counties. Forecasters say freezing rain is expected to begin early Sunday morning before daybreak in the Lakes Area, then spread south into the Triangle. The wintry precipitation is expected to move out of the region by early Sunday afternoon. At this point, between one-quarter inch and one-third inch of ice accumulation is forecast along Highway 190 between Jasper and Woodville. Meteorologists warn that even small amounts of ice can lead to dangerous travel conditions, especially on bridges and overpasses. The highest potential for significant icing remains concentrated in the Lakes Area, though impacts are now expected to extend farther south than previously forecast.
