Mortal Kombat Conquest Season: 1 Episode: 7 Title: Twisted Reality Brief plot description: In the mines, Shang Tsung and Nitara meet Quan Chi and Sareena. Shang Tsung invites Quan Chi to join forces and destroy Raiden together. They form an alliance. Early in the morning, Raiden goes to Fire Temple as usual. On the streets of Fengjian, he hears the scream of a woman being chased by a hooded man. Raiden hurries after her into an alley and ends up in a portal. The portal closes behind him. The hooded man turns out to be Quan Chi, and his "victim" is Sareena. They lure Raiden into a trap and Shang Tsung turns over the hourglass in his mines. Raiden ends up in an illusory world. In appearance, it is the same Fengjian village, only upon entering the estate, Raiden meets a living Jen there. She greets him and says that they are waiting for Kung Lao, who should return after winning the Mortal Kombat tournament. Kung Lao returns. Here he is the champion of the Earthrealm. Raiden tries to explain to them that none of this is real and that Jen is dead, but no one believes him. They are attacked by Scorpion, who was sent by Shang Tsung after Kung Lao, and Raiden finds that he cannot fight like he used to. Scorpion tries to kill Jen, but Kung Lao saves her and kills Scorpion. Jen tells Raiden that the burden of protecting Earthrealm lies with Kung Lao, which means Raiden can lead a normal life and stay here with her. Raiden agrees. In the mines, Shang Tsung tells Quan Chi that when the last grain of sand in the hourglass falls down, the illusion will be destroyed and Raiden along with it. After that, Shang Tsung will take his soul. Quan Chi says that this is not what they agreed on and wants to take Raiden's soul himself. But Shang Tsung has changed the spell in his favor and nothing can be done, not even interrupted. Then the angry Quan Chi decides to thwart the sorcerer's plans and goes to Sun Do, where he finds Kung Lao and Li Mei. They immediately rush into battle. Kung Lao defeats Sareena, but Quan Chi threatens to kill Li Mei if they do not listen to him. He tells Raiden's friends what happened and says that only they can convince him that the world he ended up in is unreal. Quan Chi sends them through a portal into an illusion. There they try to pull Raiden out, but Jen does not let him. There is very little time left and the illusion begins to collapse. Raiden begins to understand what is happening, and all three run to the portal. Their path is blocked by an illusory Kung Lao, who, in the voice of Shang Tsung, tells Raiden that he will remain here forever. He is helped by an unharmed Scorpion. With the help of his friends Raiden defeats him and, together with Kung Lao and Li Mei, manages to leave the illusion just as the last grain of sand falls in the clock. Shang Tsung smashes the watch in anger, and Quan Chi rejoices. At home, Raiden meets Liu Kang and says that he would like to give up everything and lead a simple life, but understands that a completely different fate is in store for him.
