Epic Hard Enduro Race— Commentary GrindingStone Lap 1 2022 A class

Grinding Stone was and still is my favorite race of the US hard enduro series. So much slab rock and challenging lines to try. There was 5.5 hour max time at this race so I was really trying to pace myself. Ended up doing 2 laps and still had an hour left but, because of how they flagged it I couldn’t keep riding and try to make more checks. I felt like I still had a lot of good energy at the end and wished I could have kept going but that’s just the way it played out. Very hard to gauge how much to push vs conserve, always a learning experience at these races.
